Minnesota Permanent Makeup License Requirements

Minnesota Permanent Makeup License Requirements

The Minnesota Department of Health regulates permanent cosmetics as body art. Read all about body art regulations and rules here.

To obtain a full technician license you must first be licensed as a temporary technician, which is an apprentice license. In order to do this, you must seek out a certified body artist who is willing to be your mentor and supervise you during your training. Click here to learn more about temporary licenses.

After you have completed 200 hours of supervised training, you may apply for a full technician license and pay the application fee of $100. Read more here. Find the application here.
